Bandini Art
Johnston Marklee’s design for the Bandini Art Gallery aims to subtly transform a former car repair shop into a flexible and dynamic environment for display and installation. Located on an industrial Culver City corridor, the simple and utilitarian ‘brick box’ is offset by a roof that slopes slightly along a diagonal, from one corner to another. Rather than viewing this slight divergence from an established geometry as a defect, it became the point of departure for the design.
